I've been doing some work related to public domain material, including looking into some of next year's entries, through my own newsletter. I know there's a lot I hope to see done with this material. For one thing, I'm hoping we can finally get a film adaptation of The Well of Loneliness, a story which would have been nearly impossible to adapt back when it was first published (or at least in a way that remained true to the original story). I'd also like to see a retelling of Orlando which has the titular character, who's been alive for centuries, continue living up to the 2020s. And of course, it will be fun to see what people attempt to do with Mickey and the sequel to Winnie -the-Pooh. Let's just hope that Disney won't be too hard on them.
