Well… today is the day. After seventeen years of working on this film, it finally comes to select theaters today and will be available to rent on Amazon and iTunes for $4.99.
I wanted to give
by Max Cea a shout out and thank him for this fantastic interview he posted this past week. Max and I connected a few weeks ago and he interviewed me about the marketing and PR efforts we are doing for DARUMA.Additionally, some of the press pieces I’ve been working on all hit within the last few days. It includes:
A national piece in CNN
A piece in The Seattle Times (print and online)
A piece in the Park Record (print and online)
An interview with New York Public Media
And much more to come. Will all of this pay off? I don’t know but I feel like we’ve given ourselves the best shot of success possible.

We finally released the trailer to DARUMA, on Nov. 8, 2024 after holding it back for more than 18 months.

We launched it a week before the film cames out on a Zoom release party with my cast, hosted by Christopher Titus and special guest Peter Farrelly.
Some people think that that strategy is a little risky, but I’ll be sharing the results as the numbers roll in and we can make a real-time case study.

So as you can see… I’ve been BUSY getting this film out into the world and I had to pivot on my messaging this week due to um… recent events. So without further adieu…
Let’s Talk About… Proactive Messaging vs Reactive Messaging
I’m going to launch into the strategy behind this in today’s paid post which is about proactive versus reactive communication and share how I’m pivoting my messaging at the moment AND making sure that I’m setting expectations for people renting the film. This is going to be key.
This week’s paid post dives into that strategy and is breaking down how this pivot will help us in the long run.
